Mount Barney National Park

Without another person in sight, it didn’t take me long to decide that this place was magic. The mountains were towering over us like natures own skyscrapers, the sun was streaming down making the dust from the dirt road sparkle and the birds were singing like they do in fairytales.

Sunday’s are our favourite day for adventures, so a few Sunday’s ago we decided to escape the big city and take a drive to the Scenic Rim.

The Scenic Rim is made up of 6 National Parks, that’s right, 6!! It was hard to choose our destination but we finally decided on Mt Barney National Park, which didn’t let us down! It was about a 2 hour drive from Brisbane, with some photo stops along the way, of course!

We spent hours, and I literally mean hours in this field, running around taking photos! Every step we took the view changed, it somehow became more beautiful and even more magical. We stayed in the field admiring the landscape until the farmer came by to feed her cows.

Luckily she was the nicest person and let us help her feed the cows! Which was an awesome experience, the were so friendly!

We decided to try and find another spot to watch the sunset. But our minds completely changed after driving for about 30 seconds, when we were passing the next paddock.. the lighting was so golden it was shining on the long brown grass making it glow. We had to stop here.

We stayed here until the sun completely disappeared behind the mountains and then made our way home.

At the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling
