Crystal Castle and Shambhala Gardens just might be the closest thing to heaven on earth.
After less than a 30min scenic drive through the Byron Bay Hinterlands you will find yourself transported into what seems like another world.. Stories, pictures and souvenirs don’t do this enchanted botanical gardens and rain-forest justice, it’s a ‘see to believe’ kind of place.
When we arrived we got an amazing guide book that has the history about Crystal Castle and detailed information about all the crystals and statues, this book is now the center piece of our coffee table!
Even the gift shop was full of wonder, with amazing crystals for sale, jewelry and awesome fabric scrolls with uplifting quotes, our favourite quote from those is below, something to live by i think..
“If you’re depressed, you’re living in the past. If you’re anxious you’re living in the future. If you’re at peace, you’re living in the present.”
The first thing we saw was the World Peace Stupa (which has been blessed by the Dalai Lama. I was so in awe of the size that I forgot to talk a photo! There’s some info about it on their website!
This Crystal is at Reflexology Path, you take off your shoes and walk around the beautiful Rose Quartz. Reflexology is a therapy that is based on the principle that the nerve endings in our feet provide a map to the rest of our body. Meaning reflexology is intended to reduce stress and help your body achieve a relaxed state.
Your feet get massaged by the pebbles surrounding the Rose Quarts, this crystal radiates energy of peace, love and relaxation.
The Crystals of Crystal Castle

The Statues of Crystal Castle
Garuda Represents courage and a man’s higher spiritual aspirations, Vishnu (riding on the shoulders of Garuda) embodies strength, energy, valor and generosity.
Ganesh represents good fortune and provides prosperity, fortune and success.
Nandi, the White Bull represents joy attained through celebration, strength and restraint
We placed a coin on this statue, since 2007 they have collected thousands of dollars from these donations and have given it all to a small kindergarten for Tibetan refugee children near Dharamsala in Northern India. As you place your coin on a statue you can send your love and prayers with it.
Buddha represents peace and freedom from suffering.
You could actually hear the bamboo creaking as it swayed in the wind!

This tree fossil was from Madagascar, dating back from 145-200 MILLION years! This means they are from the Jurassic period, when dinosaurs roamed the earth..
They were buried in volcanic ash, which then made them become impregnated with minerals such as silica and gradually turned to stone.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Nelson Mandela
