Moreton Island, Australia

Off the coast of Brisbane, Australia, is one of our favourite spots – Moreton Island!

We booked a day trip package that included the 75 Minute ferry ride, a lunch voucher, Dolphin feeding (eeek!!!) and the return ferry to Brisbane. Ever since our trip to Moreton Island we have been dreaming of returning to spend at least a a few nights there. (hopefully in the near future!)

Tangalooma Island Resort is the name of where we spent most of our time on the island. They have a lot to offer with many dining options, activities and accomodation! My favourite activity being the Dolphin Feeding!

The wild Dolphins come in to the beach every night at 6pm to have a feed. It is magical as they have been coming for years, they are completely wild and have no obligations to come, but somehow they show up every single night to entertain the resort guests and let us give them fish for their dinner!

“Take nothing but pictures.
Leave nothing but footprints.
Kill nothing but time.”

We snorkeled for hours exploring the shipwrecks and looking at the fish. Tangalooma Island Resort have loads of tours for Snorkeling the Shipwrecks or just cruising around them in a glass bottomed boat, but we opted for hiring some snorkels so we could take our time exploring. IMG_20151018_220511

The whole island has such a relaxed vibe. You switch over to ‘island time’ where you feel like you don’t have a care in the world!

Sunsets on Moreton Island are like nothing else. We heard from staff and long time guests that they are spectacular every single night! Nothing but the sky, ocean and horizon.
